In support of Circle Circle dot dot’s final La Jolla Playhouse Resident Theatre production, we are hosting a special one-night-only performance fundraiser at the wonderful Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage that will celebrate and look back at the companies’ four years of producing 14 original community-inspired productions. 

This evening will give longtime Circle fans a flashback of entertaining original musical numbers, poetry, live-action-role-playing, drag performance-slaying, sci-fi ridiculousness, a little dance, and a lot of laughs. We will also provide new fans a brief history in how our little company got started and why we’re sticking around.

San Diego, I Love You 3.0 

A site-specific walking adventure play for the romantic in us all.  

Written and Directed by Katherine Harroff.

Choreographed by Blythe Barton.    

Performances: February 14th-15th & 21-22nd.   

Performance Times:  1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, & 3:00pm.  

Circle Circle dot dot is pleased to present the third brand-new installment of our fan favorite Valentine's-inspired production: "San Diego, I Love You"!  

This year's original romantic rendezvous is set on the gorgeous UCSD Campus where audiences will be invited to play voyeur to the love story of Louise and Joanne as it unfolds before them with beautiful architecture, fun local businesses, and an ocean view as a backdrop.  Our new tale of love follows these bright young women as they navigate and balance exploring sexuality with their collegiate life.

To aide in a sensational re-telling of this true love story, award-winning local choreographer Blythe Barton has joined the creative team to aide in developing the visually-striking production.

A New Year with Circle Circle dot dot

Dearest friends and family of Circle Circle dot dot,  

2014 has been a wild year for our little company.  We've encountered some truly fabulous opportunities, and we continued to enjoy producing original Community-Inspired Theatre in San Diego and beyond!  In the spirit of all good holiday letters, here's a wrap-up of some major milestones for us this wonderful year:

We kicked off 2014 in residency with Arizona State University where we worked with students and Astrophysicists to developRed Planet Respite.  Our time at ASU provided us significant support in our efforts and inspired us to push the boundaries of Community-Based Theatre. We loved this opportunity to develop a piece with University students and there are exciting educational engagements in our near future.  

While Soroya and I worked in AZ, Patrick Kelly directed our second installment of San Diego, I Love You in beautiful University Heights. This engagement has proven to be not only a crowd-pleaser, but one of our very favorite experiments in Theatre-making.  We're thrilled to bring you our brand new third installment of this fan favorite piece once more in February 2015 on campus at UCSD.  We hope you'll come fall in love with us all over again in this beautiful city.   

With the entire company reunited in April, we immediately dove into our first ever musical: No Place Like Home, written and directed by Soroya Rowley and Andrew Steele.  We promise our fans that this will not be our last musical.  It was way too much fun!

In September we began our stint as Theatre-in-Residence at La Jolla Playhouse where our revamped sci-fi fantasy Red Planet Respite was remounted. It's thrilling to have the knowledge and support of the Playhouse as we continue to produce. The premiere of Wild California in June 2015 will be our final production in this wonderful residency.

Our year came to an end last weekend with the closing of ourseasonal treat Naughty or Nice.  The fabulous cast

received great reviews from critics and audiences alike. The 8 original short pieces had something for everyone- thank you to everyone who made it out!

As you can tell, this has been a big year of growth for us!  We just can't do it without you.  And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support thus far. Every time you share a post, or tell a friend about us- we continue to gain fans. Every time you buy a ticket- we continue to fund our artists.  Every time you add a little money to your ticket purchase- we can continue to make an impact and a mark on this world.  With this in mind we hope you can continue to support our efforts and help us not only survive but thrive in the New Year.

5 Reasons to get in the Holiday Spirit with Circle Circle dot dot!

We are now into our second week of Naughty or Nice and are so thankful to all of the audiences that have shown up thus far.  You have been a fantastic addition to our seasonal stew!  I hope you enjoyed your experience and will encourage everyone you know to expereince it as well.

When crafting an all new Christmas show (or any show) you have to think about the audience.  Christmas is a time for families to get together and enjoy some cheer, but our audience has grown to love our willingness to go to the raunchy extereme.  So, we decided to provide a pair of joy-filled productions to reach both sides of that coin.  Nice is a family friendly show in the purest sense.  It is made to entertain children and adults alike. Have family in town? Bring them downtown for some joyful fun.  It is sweet, kind and very funny.  Naughty is the chance to get down with Christmas with wildest of theater lovers.  It dares to get dirty, speak to your grinch-y side, and keep you roaring with laughter.

When we first started discussing the project we new it might be a hard sell, as all new shows can be, but sometimes you just have to follow your artistic side and go for it.   So with that in mind I wanted to give you 5 quick reasons you should see Naughty AND Nice this holiday season before it's too late.

5)  Great For Groups- Get your co-workers and friends together,  see Nice, grab dinner and/or drinks and then return to the theater for a rocous good time at Naughty.   We promise you'll have a fantastic evening.

4) It's Different- Across the country this time of year 100's of theaters are producing the regular Christmas fare.  However,  We are bringing you somethign all new.  These are never-before-seen stories that protray the heart of the modern Christmas.  They will leave you just as spirited as any of the 10 productions of the "traditional" Christmas offerings in town.

3) The Length- Nice is 1 hour long.  With it's 6:30pm start time on Thrusday/Friday and 4pm start time on Saturday/Sunday you could bring your children and grandparents and have them home by 8pm for bed.  Naughty is a fast paced 80mins of crazy that will end in time for you to hit up da club after.

2) The Cast- A stunning cast of 7 preformers sing, dance and act their way through 40+ characters in two separate shows.  It is a feat that anyone can appreciate and all of their performances shine.

1) The Price!- Theater tickets can be expensive, but we believe in keeping our shows accessible.  So, in the spirit of giving we lowered our generally low prices so that all Christmas lovers can attend.
